There are 4 teams this year in the NFL that will make the playoffs that did not last season. These teams are the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These teams are poised for a playoff appearance after missing the playoffs last year. I will go in depth on every team, so let's get into it.
The Denver Broncos have so much talent all around and I am 100% sure that they are a playoff team. Fant, Gordon, Lindsay, Sutton, Jeudy, and Hamler are the Broncos top weapons. The whole season depends on the young quarterback Drew Lock. If he is good, I believe that he can take the Broncos to the Super Bowl. The offensive line is alright and they have an above average defense. Drew Lock can win MVP this year and take the Broncos back to the Super Bowl. They will get a wild card spot, but do not be surprised if they win the AFC West.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a top 5 defense in the whole NFL. There are so many playmakers, that includes, Fitzpatrick, Heyward, Watt, and Haden. Pittsburgh has an incredible defense that will lead them to the playoffs. Ben Roethlisberger comes back after missing most of the 2019 season. The Steelers had one of the worst quarterback situations in the NFL last year and Roethlisberger should help stabilize the team. With 3 wild card spots in each conference, it would be shocking to see the Steelers miss the playoffs.
As much as I hate to say it as an Eagles fan, the Dallas Cowboys are going to win the NFC East in 2020. They have way too much talent not to win the division. Dak Prescott is entering the second contract year and his career and he needs to play well if he want to get paid like a top quarterback. A team in the NFC East has not won back to back division titles since the Eagles won from 2001-2004. This trend will keep and the Cowboys will claim the the NFC East title and a playoff spot this upcoming season.
The Tampa Buccaneers had a top 3 offseason this year and it would be very surprising to see them miss the playoffs in 2020. The Buccaneers definitely upgraded, but people are overrating their offseason. Tom Brady is a bit above average at this point in his career, but he fills their biggest hole which is turnovers. The Buccaneers have 2 top 10 receivers and one of the best tight end groups in the NFL depending on how Rob Gronkowski plays. They also have a top 10 defense and the NFL's leading sack man from a year ago. A wild card spot is certainly in Tampa Bay's future.
