Ryan Tannehill is staying on the Tennessee Titans thanks to a 4 year, 118 million dollar extension.
Tannehill is the reigning comeback player of the year. He sent the Titans to the AFC Championship where the Titans lost. Tannehill who started the season as a backup behind Marcus Mariota, proved to be the Titans starter. Tannehill made his first start in a Titans uniform on week 7, against the Chargers. The previous game against the Broncos, Tannehill replaced Mariota in the third quarter, due to his poor performance.
Tannehill was acquired from the Miami Dolphins last offseason. He wanted to have a better career on a new team, and it didn't seem possible because he would be a backup. Despite the odds, Tannehill played 12 games and threw 22 touchdowns on 2,742 yards. Tannehill boosted the Titans and sent them to the playoffs, where they upset the Patriots and Tom Brady in Round 1. In Round 2, the Titans faced off against an almost unbeatable Ravens Team and Lamar Jackson. Despite these odds, Tannehill threw 2 touchdowns in a upset win. Tannehill won Comeback Player of the Year and led the NFL in passer rating.
The addition of Tannehill coming back, is very important because this ensures the Titans getting a great QB, that can lead the Titans back to the playoffs. As a result, which doesn't matter, Tom Brady wont be going to the Titans. This is no big deal for the Titans, because they have another good QB in Tannehill.
