There are a few great teams in the NBA Eastern Conference, but it seems that there are only a select few that could go to the Finals. There are the front runners, Milwaukee and Toronto. There are underdogs, Boston, Philadelphia, and Miami. Lastly, there are the long shots, Brooklyn, Orlando, and Indiana. Those are the teams that would make the NBA playoffs if they started today. There are some teams that seem to have much better odds than others, but in the NBA, anything can happen.
The front runners to make the NBA Finals are the Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors. The Bucks have a 49-8 record, which is the best in the NBA, while having the back-to-back MVP favorite. This MVP favorite is Giannis Antetokounmpo who is averaging 29.9 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. Giannis won the MVP in 2019 and will most likely win it again in 2020. The Bucks also have all star Khris Middleton and he is fantastic second option. The Toronto Raptors are the reigning NBA Champions and even though they lost their best player last offseason, they are 42-15 this season. They are the second seeded team in the east and have a serious chance of repeating as NBA Champs. The Raps have a very balanced team, but there is no doubt they are lead by Pascal Siakam. Siakam can lead Toronto to the Finals with the help of guys like Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka. Both Toronto and Milwaukee are great teams, but Milwaukee might be unstoppable on their road to the NBA Finals.

about the Philadelphia 76ers and the NBA Eastern Conference
The underdogs to come out of the Eastern Conference this season are Boston, Miami, and Philadelphia. The Celtics had two all stars this season with Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker. The Celtics have a solid all around team and with their balance and defense, they can pull off an upset or two in the playoffs. Boston is the 3rd seed in the playoff seeding right now and they have a decent chance of making it to the Conference Finals. The Heat have had a better than expected season and are looking to hold a top 4 spot down the stretch in the standings. They are led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo who are their go to guys in close games. The Heat were not expected to be this high of a seed, but thanks to the production throughout their whole lineup, they have a chance at a high seed. The Sixers were expected to be a top 2 seed in the East this season, but they are far from that. The Sixers have a fantastic team on paper, but have not been able to put it all together this season. They have been a very underwhelming team this season due to Joel Embiid and Al Horford having down years. The main part of their struggles have been their road record. At home Philadelphia is 27-2, while on the road they are 9-20. Boston, Miami, and Philadelphia all have a chance at the Finals this year, but it certainly will be difficult.
The long shots to make the Finals are Brooklyn, Orlando, and Indiana. It would be very tough for any of these teams to even sniff the Finals. The Brooklyn Nets are 26-30, but are still the 7th seed in the East. They lost their best player for the season, Kyrie Irving, and the only way they have a tiny chance is if Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie step up and become stars. The Orlando Magic are 25-32, but are still in the 8th seed in the weak Eastern Conference. They are well below .500 and inconsistent, yet they still find themselves in a playoff spot. If this team was to make the Finals, they would have to pull off some of the biggest upsets and some of the best luck ever. The Indiana Pacers are 33-24 and have the best odds out of these three teams to make the Finals. They are the 6th seed and have a much better team and record than Brooklyn and Orlando. Oladipo, Turner, and Brogdon have a chance to do something special if they stay healthy and catch fire. These teams have nearly no chance of making the Finals, but they still are playoff teams that have a chance.
The eight teams in the playoffs right now all have a chance no matter what happens because once a team gets in, they can get hot. There are the front runners, Milwaukee and Toronto who have the best chance of winning the East. There are underdogs, Boston, Philadelphia, and Miami who have a chance, but are not front runners. Lastly, there are the long shots, Brooklyn, Orlando, and Indiana who have a very slight chance of making the Finals. Milwaukee will be tough to get by, but any team can win the East if they get hot at the right time.
