The MLB, along with many sports are on pause due to the coronavirus. The MLB has been brainstorming different solutions to start the MLB season by July 4th. Each day the MLB has a new plan but will this plan work and be safe? In order for this plan to happen, it needs to be approved by medical experts. Lets find out!
The MLB season, which was supposed to start over a month ago, is looking to start and resume their season before any other sports league as long as it is safe. This will put the MLB ahead of all sports leagues, and draw many more fans since there is nothing else to watch. The MLB who has the longest season out of any sport and the most games, are trying to make a regular season as normal as possible. This means a 162 game season, 6 divisions of 5 teams in each, and a normal crowd. For right now, the best we can hope for is there to be games, but no fans in attendance. Here is MLB's most recent plan.
MLB's most recent plan consists of 3 divisions with 10 teams in each. The divisions are as follows:
East- New York Yankees and Mets, Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, Miami Marlins
West- Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners
Central- Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers
This new plan would change MLB's division setup just for this season. There would be no National League and no American League, but instead the divisions will be based on the locations of the teams. The teams in the divisions will only play their division.

It is all still coming together, but in this plan and in most plans, teams will play in spring training stadiums which are in Florida and Arizona. There are also talks about teams playing in Texas. There seems to be a new plan each day, so what can we believe. All we can do, is hope for sports to resume even if we cannot attend the games. Hopefully this season can be as normal as possible, but we can at least look forward to watching games, and maybe even going to playoff games because that is far out.
