Leonard Fournette is on the trade block for the Jacksonville Jaguars! Leonard Fournette who was the 4th pick in the 2017 NFL draft is an above average starting running back. He will be due 4.16 million in base salary next year so why not get money, a draft pick or a player in a trade for Fournette. Lets dive in to see which NFL teams will be willing to take on Fournette's salary.
The Miami Dolphins have indeed got a decent running back this offseason in Jordan Howard. So why do the Dolphins need Fournette? Jordan Howard would be a backup running back on most NFL teams. Even though it seems like Howard will be the starting running back for the Dolphins, he is not someone Miami is probably interested in making their primary workhorse. This is why Fournette will be a good fit on the Dolphins. The Dolphins are aiming at least this season for a wild card spot as there is an extra team in each conference making the playoffs, and the Patriots will be in no harm, at least for this year. The Dolphins have got Kyle Van Noy and star Cornerback Byron Jones this offseason. The Dolphins may even have star rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins last year were the worst rushing team in the NFL and they won't get much better. Right now the Dolphins have Kalen Ballage, Patrick Laird and Myles Gaskin adding on to Howard in the backfield.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
First of all, what running back does not want to be in the backfield with Tom Brady and the new-look Bucs. This offseason, the Buccaneers lost backup running back Peyton Barber to the Redskins. This leaves Ronald Jones as the lead back. Since Barber is gone, the Bucs are looking for a running back and Fournette can be the right choice. Jones is a shaky back and is just average. Tom Brady is also in need of a better running back in the backfield as he relied on his receiving backs in New England. Fournette would be a good fit, both for the Bucs and himself.
3. Buffalo Bills
The Bills are not in desperate need for a running back but should definitely trade for Fournette. The Bills are the projected winners of the AFC East. To make sure of the Bills winning the division, they should get Fournette. Not just for the AFC East, but to make it far in the playoffs. The Bills already have a great rookie running back in Devin Singletary who was injured a lot last year. With the addition of Fournette, the Bills will be a much better team. Any team with the addition of Fournette will be a much better team. The Bills have already got star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. This made there playoff hopes more reasonable, but there is always room for improvement and that improvement can come in the running game. Josh Allen is one of the more mobile QB's in the NFL, but that wouldn't affect Fournette on the Bills.
