For one more day top defensive prospect Chase Young will be known as the Ohio State EDGE rusher, after tomorrow night's NFL Draft starts he will be associated with his first professional team.
Young will more than likely be selected second overall behind LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, but that doesn't mean he hasn't dreamed about being the first overall pick. But, Young seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders heading into the Draft.
“I have probably thought about every situation that can happen,” Young told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “but I feel like at the end of the day it is not in our hands it is in God’s hands, so that is what I think about that. So I’m just going to sit back and not even worry about who might draft me and just let everything happen on its own. I’m not going to sit here and keep worrying or keep thinking this or keep thinking that, so I’m just going to let everything happen, and whatever God’s plan is that is going to work for me.”
Though he won't be the first overall pick, he doesn't have to worry about waiting until day 2 of the Draft. Even if for some reason the Washington Redskins passed on a potential future Pro Bowler, Young wouldn't be on the board for more than three picks.
Young delivered 16.6 sacks and forced 12 fumbles in his final season with the Buckeyes. He is the census top defensive player in this year's Draft, and he doesn't have to worry about where he's picked, he just has to worry about proving himself on an NFL field.
