TPC Harding Park hosted the PGA Championship, one of the 4 major tournaments including the Masters, Us Open, and The Open. TPC Harding Park was named after the President Warren G Harding and opened July 18th, 1925. The Course includes Fourways narrow as an Arrow and Greens the size of Dots. Some golfers took down the Course, but then lost the momentum or Lost everything earlier and pulled the lead back in reach, will be talking but those Tour players that had the biggest Up and Down Rounds that will shock you and break down the PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park.
.Rickie Fowler started on the back nine on Friday, Thursday he put up +3 and the cut line was at +2, he scored two Birdies on the back nine to lift him up to +1 on the tournament and -2 on Friday. He Birdied the 1st hole when he went into the Front nine, but did not know what would come next. Paring every hole till the 6th where he Double Bogeyed to bring him back to +1 right on the cut line. Just for him to Bogey the 8th and be cut, but had a chance on the 9th where he had a 10 footer and missed it and got cut to end his chances for the PGA Championship.
.Zach Johnson was never been in Contention since the 2015 Open Championship and 2016 close matches for PGA Tour Matches and the US Open where he was 8th place. He went and insane -4 which no person saw coming, Zach Johnson was gonna have a chance at this Major Title. He went to Round 2 with huge confidence as he Bogeyed the 3rd but still was in contention then the 8th which was also bogeyed. He was losing his chance but again, did not know what would come next. Went on to the Back nine because he started on the Front nine and Bogeyed the 11th, his high hopes were draining, then 13th bogeyed again. He was +4 on the Round but Even on the Tournament, the cut line at +2 so he was still two shots lost away from the cut. Till this happened, the 15th hole he grabbed Driver and hit it straight in the tree's. And with Putting problems and Chipping it turned into a Double Bogey. But still having 16, 17, and 18 to try to Birdie to get out of the cut which he sadly scored Par on all of them and got Cut when he was Second place just yesterday, definitely one of the tough stories to listen to.
.Mike Lorenzo-Vera was a French Man which we don't see so much in the PGA Tour. We saw Francesco Molinari the Italian win the Open but France definitely wanted to see someone represent their country to the world at the PGA Championship. Vera started his First Round at -4 and his Second Round at -2 two put him up two -6 two start the Weekend with the leader at -8 Haotong Li. He went +2 on the Front nine for the 3rd Round but still had the Back Nine left. He Bogeyed 12 and 13 back two back right before he went on a birdie streak from 14 to 15 to 16 and put him back to +1 on the Round. Trying to get in the clubhouse with +1 but put up a Bogey on the Final hole to bring him to +2. But that wasn't the worst part. Next day he went straight to the first hole to Bogey it but then birdie on the 4th to get back to Even Par. Just to Bogey back to Back on 7 and 8 but birdies 10 to get back 1. A Lot of Up and Down in this one. But then Bogey's the 12th,15th, and the Final, like on the 3rd Round the 18th. Putting up a horrifying +4 and moving back to 43rd place.
.Brooks Koepka was a Two Time, Back to Back PGA Champion, he was also a Two time and back to back U.S. Open Champion in 2019 but lost that streak to Gary Woodland at Pebble Beach Golf Links. He was trying to Complete a 3rd straight PGA Championship Victory. He Finished his 1st Round at -4 which at one point he birdied 4 out of 6 holes from the 13th to the 18th. Then on the Second day he put up a -2 to bring him to -6 to go into the weekend. Then he went to the weekend with -2 through the 1st hole to the 12th. Then he went on a insane Bogey streak through the 13th till the 15th to bring him back to +1 just birdie the 16th and the 17th to bring him to a solid -1 going to Sunday, The Final Round. But did not know what would come next. The Final Round he bogeyed the 2nd then went to his horrifying bogey streak through the 7th,8th,and the 9th again. He was at +4 on the day -3 on the Tournament when he started the day off at -7 up with the leaders and a chance to pull of the crazy 3 straight PGA Championship Victory. On 12 and 15 he birdied to get back to -5 in the tournament but bogeyed 16 and the final challenging 18th hole and sent him straight back to -3 in the tournament and a Terrible +4 on his Final Round.
.Cameron Champ a tough start after putting up 2 birdie's and 3 bogey's to bring him to +1, he wasn't a top prediction after the 1st Round until he stunned us all in the Second Round. By putting up 1 bogey and an insane 7 birdie's which Brought him to -5 in the Tournament after his +1 at the First Round. He was coming into the Final 3 holes just to Birdie 16 and 17 to bring him up to -6 like he left the bogey at the 8th all behind him when he took down the Back nine with 4 birdies. In Round 3 he put up a great -3 but would of had a better if his 3 bogey's would of stopped popping up because of Iron and Short Game mistakes. But coming into the Final Round with -8, what could be next for this Pro golfer. Final Round came and he tied the lead after two birdies on the 4th and the 6th till danger came when he went to the 9th and hit it straight into the woods, which he was forced to chip out and his second shot was short of the green, so it came down to short game which is what he made his mistakes on in the 3rd Round, which he ended up Double Bogeying the 9th because of a putt for bogey was missed and he 2 putted which is usually pretty solid but not when you Drived it straight in the woods and couldn't pull off the shot to the green and when you got on the green you were putting for bogey, this shot brought him straight back to Even Par. But Birdied the next hole at 10 to get to -1 on the day but then bogeyed at 12 and took him straight back to Even Par. The Round was Pretty Up and Down but still wasn't over. On 15 he Bogeyed and then Birdied on 17 to get back to Even Par, he finished -8 and again had a tie for the lead but instead of fighting for the lead he was fighting himself with Birdies and Bogeys.
.Matthew Wolff started his 1st Round of with a birdie at the start and then a bogey at the and a birdie at the 4th and then got Par for every other hole to hold him at -1 to start. Round 2 He went back to back birdies at 3 and 4 then he birdied the 7th to bring him to -4 on the Tournament but to bogey on the 11th to bring him back to -3 on the Tournament and -2 on his 2nd Round. Next day he went to -2 on the weekend with 2 bogey's and 4 birdies. But he still had one last Round. The 4th Round was Wolff's last chance at a PGA Championship Trophy but he started it out with a bogey on the 5th to bring him back to -4 when he started his round off with -5. But then, the Magic happened with back to back birdies on 7,8, and 9 with a stunning Eagle on the Par 5 Tenth with a beautiful Tee shot on the Fourway and a Second shot only 10ft away from the hole to putt it in for a Eagle. Their were already only 4 Eagles on that hole in the whole tournament and Matthew Wolff put his on at the Perfect time, which he went -5 through only 4 holes! Put then Bogeyed the 14th and all he needed was a good putt cause all his putts were in the 5 to 10 ft range and still made none just to bogey later in the 14th on his putting again when he was just 1 shot from the lead but then he bogeyed and moved back 1. But this wasn't the end 16 and the final always tricky 18th were birdies and he tied the leaders but just for Collin Morikawa to take the lead to -13 but still a incredible -5 by Matthew Wolff and a performance that will hopefully carry on to the Fedex Cup Playoffs.
.Collin Morikawa the 2020 PGA Champion, even the Champions have Ups and Downs. Morikawa on Round 3 he put up a -5 after Round 1 and 2 where he put up back to back -1's. He birdied 3 on the Front nine but then going on a deadly back to back bogey's but recovered with a 3 birdie streak and went -5 instead of -2. But mainly it was the Final Round for Morikawa putting up no bogey's and to birdies on the Front nine, but that wasn't the insane part, he birdied the first 10th to start the Back nine and then birdied the 14th but the Top shot of the day was Collin Morikawa tied with Paul Casey and then going up to a Driveable Par 4 and putting his shot right next to cup as he put in the 7 footer for a Eagle that changed the Tournament and made Collin the obvious winner threw the next two final holes but it got better, Collin was already the Champion so you would thing, there can't be anymore Downs for anyone now right? Well you thought wrong. Collin Morikawa picked up the trophy and the top lid of the Trophy fell straight to the ground and that was probably the biggest down for Morikawa the whole night. But he is not the only one, when Arsenal won the FA Cup, it was dropped also, so Morikawa is not the only one but neither is he the only one to win a major at the age of under 23, he joins Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory Mcilroy. Some legendary names right their, so high expectations for Collin Morikawa and hopefully the Morikawa victories don't end and we see more of this young stars future.
.Tiger Woods is the simplest one in the book, it was the Putter, on the First day a solid -2 but then a +2 on the next day and did the same on the 3rd day but a great -3 on the Final day which the putter and the Irons came to life. So still expectations in Woods but hopefully we see him in some more majors to come but he used his old putter so it was interesting to see what he had in it. But Tiger ending it with a great -1 but still more Tiger to see coming up.
