We are already approaching The Halfway mark of the MLB season and it has been interesting to say the least. We have seen many surprises and disappointments throughout these 30 games. So without further adieu here are my predictions for the remainder of this MLB season.
Fernado Tatis jr has been insane this year. He has a great stat line and is batting very well. Tatis leads the League in Home runs, RBI, runs, and hes 7th in the mlb for hits. The amazing thing about all this is that Tatis is only in his second year in the MLB. In his rookie year he only played half the season due to injuries. However Tatis still played very well and probably would have won NL rookie of the year. This year the padres just need Tatis to stay healthy as the Padres look to make a push for the postseason. Tatis will no doubt in my mind win MVP this year although he will have competition. For example, Mookie Betts, Charlie Blackman, and Brcye Harper who have all had very good years this far. If Tatis keeps up this kind of Play I think he will not only win MVP but he will be on his way to the best shortstop in baseball and maybe one day the greatest shortstop to ever play.
Despite a rough and rocky start the Astros will still win their division. Currently the Astros sit at the second spot in the AL West Behind the Athletics. Heres how the standings look.
The Good news for Houston is that Altuve is starting to find his rhythm again after a three hit game last night and hes now hit safely in 4 games straight. The other good news for the Astros is that they have 20 games straight against divisional foes. This means that the Astros can beat up on rangers, mariner, and angels and then take a few from the athletics. The Astros were also just on a 8 game winning streak as well. Before games against the Rockies and padres, so don't be worried. Lets really face this. The Astros are only 4.5 games behind the Athletics. So they just need to win a few games. I'd still say that the Astros can go far in the postseason as well. So don't count them out.
Yes you heard it right. The Yankees and Dodgers will not be meeting up in the world series this year. Why? Well it's mainly the Yankees. The Yankees may have the best chance out of all AL teams to make the World Series but i don't see it anymore. The Yankees have become plagued with more injuries again this year. Although Judge is coming back it might not be enough. Plus there are so many great teams this year. The Athletics, Rays, Astros, White Sox ,and Twins are going to be contending for a WS this year. I think that most of these teams could beat the Yankees in the postseason, and make the WS. For the Dodgers I think they Will probably make the world series but who knows. Its been such a wild season already. I just really can't see the Yankees and the Dodgers meeting each other in October.`
The NL central has been a very crazy division this year. Currently the Cubs are leading the division with a 17 and 10 record. All the cubs have to do is keep winning. Seems easy right? I mean, the rest of the division is in shambles. The pirates are the worst team in all of baseball, the brewers aren't good, the reds have been very disappointing for a team that should be the third best team in the NL, and we really don't know what the cardinals will do as they have only played 17 games due to covid. I would say that the cardinals are the biggest threat to the cubs. As they made it all the way to the NL championship game last year. The Cubs will win their division but will most likely sink early in the postseason.
