In the midst of the coronavirus outbreak worldwide, NFL free agency is going strong. Now that free agency has calmed down, now is a good time for a review of the biggest changes. There have been some big changes including Tom Brady leaving the Patriots after 20 years and Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay heading to Philly. There have been some big changes through the NFL offseason so far and they will have a big effect on the 2020 NFL season.
The biggest move has clearly been Tom Brady moving to Tampa Bay after 20 years with the Patriots. The Patriots have signed Brian Hoyer to compete for the starting spot. The trio of Cody Kessler, Jared Stidham, and Brian Hoyer have no chance of putting up the production that Tom Brady has. Brady moving to the Buccaneers has made them one of the big boys in the NFC and has changed the landscape of the whole NFL. Another huge move was Darius Slay heading to the Eagles in a trade. The Eagles only had to give up a 3rd and 5th round pick for the 3 time pro bowler. Slay is the best corner that the Eagles have had in years. Eagles fans are hoping that he will not turn into another Byron Maxwell or Nnamdi Asomugha. Philip Rivers went to the Colts on a 1 year 25 million dollar deal. This is a win-win situation. The Colts might have been a solid quarterback away from an AFC South title last year and Philip Rivers has a chance to win a Super Bowl for the 1st time going into his 17th year in the NFL. DeForest Buckner also moved to the Colts for a first round pick and will be a game-wrecker for Indianapolis.

Teddy Bridgewater signed a 3 year deal with the Carolina Panthers and he will replace former MVP Cam Newton as the Panthers franchise quarterback. Newton will likely find a new home sometime this offseason. Bryan Bulaga went to the Chargers on a three year contract. This makes sense because the Chargers will likely draft a quarterback and will need as much protection for him as possible. Robert Quinn is going to Chicago after signing a 5 year 70 million dollar contract. He will add some pass rush to a scary Bears defense. Former offensive player of the year Todd Gurley is going back to his home state of Georgia to play for the Falcons. Gurley is looking to revive his career after a down year and the Falcons need consistent play from their running backs to be successful. HaHa Clinton-Dix and Gerald McCoy are going to Dallas to add to their defense. Both veterans will help their defense this year, just not too much in the future. Melvin Gordon went to the Broncos to be their top running back and Emmanuel Sanders is going to New Orleans to add to an already great offense. Dante Fowler went to the Falcons to be their best edge rusher and Malcolm Jenkins is going back to the Saints after spending the last 6 years as the heart and soul of the Eagles defense.
There were also some more small signings including Nelson Agholor and Jason Witten going to the Raiders and Chris Harris becoming a Charger. Most of the big pieces have fallen into place in free agency and they will change the NFL for the foreseeable future. The NFL has significantly changed and the 2020 season will see some teams rise and some fall.
